Entec International was formed in 1989, specialising in the procurement and distribution of mechanical & electrical spare parts; an industry renowned for its customer-driven demand for immediate service. At the time, export was seen by most UK businesses, as a strategy to fall back on when UK market growth slowed down. Customers overseas were frustrated by the lack of speed and efficiency of service elements such as time taken to quote, delivery terms and after sales services.
The business grew and the early guiding principals were expanded to form bench marked processes and structure the Entec International service model which we see today in the "Entec Approach".
In 2001 the company began creating bespoke software solutions aimed at delivering information in real time, forming fast reliable linkages with customers and suppliers. This progressive approach and continual development in line with customer requirements has led to the creation of the Need2 and Need2 Epoch systems; which are used throughout our client base.
Having established the business model in Africa, Entec International took the opportunity to expand its services into North America by creating Entec NA LLC in Chicago in 2006. Whilst maintaining the initial vision to supply fast, reliable and cost effective services in the MRO spare parts category. The Entec NA team began to adapt to the needs of the US market and grow the scale and scope of Entec International global operations.
2007 marked the European expansion of Entec International, new contracts led to an extension of the supply chain into 15 new countries and the creation of the European Distribution Hub (EDH), creating a local distribution centre for logistics and supply services in the region. In addition EDH presented an opportunity to significantly reduce Co2 emissions associated with transport, reinforcing the ability of Entec International to work toward more environmentally sustainable practices.
Entec International moved into freight forwarding services with the establishment of Cargotec in 2008. This new company has enabled Entec International to build upon its reputation as a full service provider in the MRO category and enhance the ability to differentiate on the basis of excellence in supply chain management. In creating Cargotec, Entec International and its clients have benefited from a greater degree of control over the shipping process.
Entec International has grown successfully through service innovation and a customer focused approach. The Company continues to expand its blue chip client portfolio and global supply chain expertise year on year, adding value at every stage of the process.
